MAJOR PROJECT — TASK 3—
Week 1- Week 14
DONG XINBEI / 0359733
Bachelor of Design (Honours) in Creative Media
Specialisation: Digital Animation
In Task 3, the focus is on finalizing the animation project to ensure it reaches a complete and professional standard. The work for this stage is divided into the following three parts:
Part 1: Animation Editing and Structural Refinement
In this stage, all animation sequences will be reviewed and edited in After Effects. The main focus will be on refining timing, improving scene transitions, and ensuring that movements and camera actions are smooth and well-paced. Revisions will be made through repeated previews to achieve a coherent narrative flow and balanced rhythm throughout the animation.
Part 2: Sound Design and Atmosphere Enhancement
After the visual structure is finalized, sound elements will be integrated, including background music, sound effects, and any necessary voiceovers. The selected audio will be carefully matched to the mood and theme of the animation to strengthen storytelling and emotional impact. Audio levels and synchronization will also be adjusted to ensure natural alignment between sound and visuals.
Part 3: Final Polishing and Quality Review
Once visuals and sound are combined, final refinements will be applied to ensure consistency in color, lighting, and visual effects. The completed animation will then be reviewed multiple times to identify and correct any remaining technical or visual issues. Before submission, the final version will be shared with supervisors for last-minute feedback, and any necessary adjustments will be made to ensure a polished and professional outcome.
FINAL OUTCOME
Mr. Kamal advised that, for the overall visual outcome, additional detailed movements and a wider range of animation elements should be incorporated to make the final animation appear more coherent and fluid. In addition, you may commence the production of your animation during this week.
(Mr.Kamal) The current scene animation seems to look fine. Just pay attention to the smoothness during the subsequent operations, especially the keyframes.
Week 10
Mr. Kamal suggested changing the second character's state in the scene from sliding to walking on two legs. The sliding state would be too monotonous. When walking, one must take correct steps, not slide. It must be a cycle of contact - press down - lift up - contact.
