INSTRUCTION




Project 1: Technical & Motion Graphic Sensibilities 


Project 1 Description:


Task 1 aims to help students cultivate motion graphic sensibilities and enhance their technical skills and knowledge through a series of tasks ranging from basic to advanced levels. These tasks will not only familiarize students with basic operations but also introduce them to more complex technical areas, enabling them to tackle advanced design and animation challenges.


Requirements:


Each student is required to independently explore and improve their technical skills and knowledge within the relevant software. The task encourages students to collaborate with peers, share experiences and techniques, and create a supportive learning environment. Additionally, the facilitator will provide guidance and assistance throughout the process to ensure students can overcome difficulties and master more complex operations.


Through this approach of independent exploration and collaborative learning, students will gradually acquire key techniques in motion graphic design and animation, enhancing their professional skills. Ultimately, they will be able to create high-quality motion graphic works. These skills and knowledge will not only aid in the current task but also lay a solid foundation for their future studies and career development.



Discovery and research



Regarding the video example given by Mr. Fauzi, we are required to select four out of the eight motion graphic principles to modify. We only need to complete the chosen four principles.


 For this task, I found some visual reference images that I will use to complete my design work.

 Digitalization


In this task, Mr. Fauzi has already presented examples to us, and we only need to make changes to the part we selected. This is a great help for us. 


Through some high-level visual references, this can have a greater impact on the final design of our work, from connecting graphic elements to making them dynamic presentations, and applying more precise operations to design the final work, following each step as required.

I carefully assigned keyframes for each step, ensuring that effects and positional changes were sequenced in order for dynamic presentation. Some entrance styles and details required meticulous adjustment to create a better visual effect for viewers.


 Regarding bounce and the appearance and disappearance of each graphic, decisions needed to be made based on the previous graphic, all of which are crucial aspects.

Based on the combination of designed graphic elements, I made changes to symmetry, focus, scale, and rhythm among the eight composition principles, while keeping the rest of the compositions as originally designed. I connected them, incorporating similar graphic elements as well as some more symbolic ones to create a different style, making them more appealing. Later, I will add some music to make them look more vibrant, pairing each graphic element with more suitable music to make this design more unique.

Reflection


Project 1 has provided me with a deeper understanding of dynamic graphic design. Firstly, I have learned to use software tools such as Photoshop and After Effects, laying the foundation for creating dynamic graphics. Through practice and exploration, I have mastered skills such as keyframe animation, layer management, and effects application. Secondly, I have learned to apply design principles in dynamic graphics. Through the practical exercises of Task 1, I have gained a deeper understanding of the importance of composition principles such as balance, symmetry, focus, scale, and rhythm in dynamic design, and how to cleverly apply them to create stunning effects. Lastly, Task 1 has also nurtured my creativity. Throughout the project, I have learned to listen to others' opinions, reflect on my ideas, and seek guidance from mentors, which has boosted my confidence in the field of dynamic graphic design. Task 1 has provided me with a rich learning experience and propelled me forward in the realm of dynamic graphic design.
