Sketches

Figure 1.6 sketch 1(on paper)

Figure 1.7 sketch 2(on paper)

During the class, I utilized the time to sketch out simple drawings with a pencil on paper, outlining the design for each key component. However, this is just the initial part of my design process.

Based on Mr. Shamsul's guidance during the class, he suggested that I use the second sketch and elaborate on it. He advised me to number each step and provide visual guidance for the viewers.

 Illustration Design

Figure 2.1

Firstly, I created a design canvas with dimensions of 1240 × 1750 pixels. Then, I selected appropriate background colors and text based on the food featured in the video.

Figure 2.2

I used the Pen tool in Illustrator to draw, filled in the designed food items with colors, and arranged them neatly according to the sequence of preparation.

Figure 2.3

I arranged each preparation step in a clockwise pattern, resembling circles. I adjusted the angles of the designed patterns and labeled them with production numbers.

Figure 2.4

Finally, I labeled important text next to each production step, which helps viewers understand the content of the poster at first glance.

After completing the initial draft, Mr. Shamsul provided some brief feedback and suggestions for modifications on my design work. He advised arranging each operation step in a sequential order to provide viewers with visual comfort and facilitate a quicker understanding of the overall content of the poster.

Additionally, he suggested adjusting the overall color scheme of the poster. Currently, the colors appear vibrant, but they could be refined to achieve a more minimalist aesthetic.

Through my experimentation, I have chosen a color scheme in shades of yellow that enhances the appetite appeal, making the overall poster colors look more cohesive.

Reflection

Through the design of the poster about the food production process, I adjusted the overall color to look more uniform visually. I think the visual sense is the important point of the overall design of the poster. When viewers appreciate it, they will first be attracted by the overall collocation and design sense, so the visual sense is very important when we create a design work.
