LECTURE RECAP

In the second week, we practiced adding sound to videos. The instructor explained and guided us on the procedures for Project 1, providing instructions for the sound elements we would use in the upcoming Project 1.

INSTRUCTION

                                          

PROJECT 1

Add corresponding sound to the provided video. The audio provided for this project is silent, and our task is to add dialogue and various object sounds to the video. We can use the website provided by the instructor to find suitable sounds or use a phone to record the required sounds and edit them. For character dialogue, we need to pre-record it on our phones and use the Premiere Pro app to adjust the audio.

After my preliminary analysis of this silent video, I divided it into several segments. I grouped the sounds of cars and some objects together and looked for them collectively. I also searched for character voices, utilizing the website provided by the instructor to find the most suitable sounds.

While searching for suitable audio, I found that for some subtle sounds, such as the sound of a coin dropping and tapping on the window, I needed to create them myself. I crafted these sounds using actual objects and turned them into usable audio for the video.

After receiving guidance from the mentor, I studied the suggestions provided and made corrections to my issues. Regarding the voiceovers for these characters, Mr. Martin advised me to alter the voices since the recorded sounds were my original voice. Therefore, the voices should match the characters in the video to showcase the best possible effect.

REFLECTION

Adding contextual audio to the video in this task taught me a lot. Utilizing the materials provided by the mentor, I enriched a silent video with various elements, such as character voiceovers. For these operations, I organized pre-collected character audio and modified them. The techniques learned in this production process will be applied in future courses, and I am committed to continuing to learn more to enhance the experience gained from this task.
