Lecture recap
In the fourth week's class, the instructor provided us with an explanation
of prototype design and introduced how to use Figma and Adobe XD, as
well as the tasks we need to complete. We were tasked with designing
the
layout of a digital resume using the selected prototyping software. Defining
the placement of different sections and how they will flow together,
applying consistent visual design with typography, color palette, and
appropriate spacing.
Prototype design is an essential step in the development process of
websites and applications, aiming to create a visual model or sample for
demonstrating and testing the functionality and interactions of the user
interface.
Purpose: The primary purpose of prototype design is to assist the
development team and stakeholders in visualizing and comprehending the
appearance, functionality, and interactions of the final product. It aids
in collecting feedback, identifying issues, and making improvements,
ultimately reducing costs and risks in the later stages of development.
Types: Prototypes can be categorized into low-fidelity prototypes and
high-fidelity prototypes. Low-fidelity prototypes are typically quick and
rough sketches or wireframes used for exploration and conveying initial
concepts. High-fidelity prototypes are more detailed and are often created
using specialized prototyping tools to simulate the appearance and
functionality of the final product.
Sections and Organization: A resume should be organized into logical
sections such as "Personal Profile," "Educational Background," "Work
Experience," "Skills," "Projects," and "Contact Information." The
prioritization of sections should be based on their relevance to the
targeted position.
Visual Elements: Including relevant images, icons, or placeholders that
align with the content and enhance visual appeal is important. After
creating the prototype, designers can invite users or stakeholders to
conduct testing. Testing aims to evaluate the usability,
comprehensibility, and user satisfaction of the user interface. Feedback
is typically used to improve the prototype and address potential issues
before development begins.
In summary, prototype design plays a vital role in the web and app
development process by providing a visual representation for testing and
refining the user interface. It helps teams gain a clearer understanding
of the project's requirements, identify potential issues early on, and
enhance the overall user experience. Prototype design is adaptable and can
be tailored to suit specific project needs and objectives.
INSTRUCTION
Project 1
I initially started by gaining a basic understanding and researching this
project, and once I became familiar with it, I proceeded to create my work.
After the mentor introduced us to Figma, I began to familiarize myself with
this tool. The tutorials and provided size specifications were very helpful to
me, and I will use the information provided above to create my work.

When creating the final version of my project, I focused on text-only
content initially. I needed to ensure that it was complete and visually
appealing, which served as a preliminary draft for the final work.

I will add icons to my final work, and by placing unique corresponding
icons on the page, they serve different purposes to attract people's
attention.

Reflection
In project 1, it was a great test of the fundamentals of prototype
design, and using Figma allowed beginners to become familiar with how to
create better work in a more concise way. Integrating content from the
document into digital format forced me to consider effective presentation in
digital media.
