During Week 10, our attention was centered around the captivating realm of
surrealism and its application in conveying messages through art. Here's a
concise summary of the topics we explored:
Realism: We examined the utilization of ordinary and familiar subject
matters in art, presenting the world as it truly appears.
Surrealism: Delving into surrealism, we delved into the exploration of the
subconscious mind and the creation of visuals reminiscent of dreams.
Surrealism seeks to distort reality, evoking a sense of wonder and
fascination.
Surrealism in Digital Art: We explored how surrealism can be expressed
through various digital art styles, enabling artists to convey their ideas
effectively. We delved into techniques and concepts such as:
- Crafting dream-like scenes and incorporating symbolic imagery.
- Experimenting with unexpected and illogical combinations.
- Blending ordinary objects in unconventional and peculiar ways.
- Embracing primitive or child-like designs to cultivate a distinct
aesthetic.
Animation in Adobe Photoshop: We delved into the animation capabilities of
Adobe Photoshop, with a particular focus on animating using layers and
keyframes. By harnessing keyframes, we gained the ability to seamlessly
transition between frames, thus achieving a surreal and dream-like effect in
our animations.
Another technique for animating in Photoshop is frame-based animation. This
method follows the traditional animation approach, where each frame is
meticulously created and synchronized to achieve a smooth and fluid
animation sequence. In addition, we learned about the Puppet Warp function,
which provides the ability to manipulate images by strategically placing
anchor points. With this feature, we can bend, twist, and reshape the
selected areas, offering greater control over the composition and visual
impact of our artwork.

WEEK 11
During this week, Mr. Martin introduced us to the remarkable world of Adobe
After Effects. After Effects is a robust software renowned for its
capabilities in motion graphics, visual effects, and video editing. With
this powerful tool, we can bring our creative visions to fruition by
creating and manipulating stunning animations, applying a plethora of
effects, and elevating the visual impact of our projects. Throughout the
week, we explored the diverse features and tools available in After Effects,
acquiring the skills to utilize them effectively and breathe life into our
ideas.
The culminating project in Digital Photography and Imaging revolves
around the creation of a personalized artwork bearing our own title. This
endeavor provides an avenue for self-expression, allowing us to manifest
our distinctive identities and reflect our personalities through the
medium of digital art. The primary emphasis lies in cultivating
self-assurance and fostering self-exploration throughout the creative
journey. It grants us the opportunity to delve deep into our innermost
thoughts and emotions, harnessing digital tools and techniques to breathe
life into our unique visions.

In Week 12, Mr. Martin conducted a photography session, offering
participants the opportunity to engage in a high-quality photoshoot.
Although I attended the session, I wasn't satisfied with the results of my
own shoot during the final stages. I felt disappointed and decided to take
matters into my own hands. I reached out to a friend and planned a reshoot
to ensure a more perfect outcome. This time, I captured a silhouette
photo.
Figure 4.1 my photo
In my concept, I envision surrounding myself with more marine creatures,
creating a sense that I am about to enter the underwater world. To portray
this, I will manipulate the scale of my figure, either shrinking or
enlarging it, while allowing my footsteps and hair to naturally sway,
seamlessly merging myself with the surrounding oceanic realm.

Exeutuin and Post Production
Prior to commencing the Photoshop editing process, it was
essential for me to carefully select a fitting background for my artwork.
Given the theme of "underwater life," I embarked on an extensive search to
find backgrounds that would align harmoniously with my artistic vision.
After thorough exploration, I successfully identified four distinct
backgrounds that exuded the captivating ambiance I sought to create.
Figure 5.1 selected background
Interestingly, the chosen background aligned perfectly with the theme I
had selected. However, in order to enhance the visual appeal of my design,
I made the decision to incorporate additional elements. I introduced some
jellyfish, adorable little fish, and colorful coral into the composition.
These small details brought a sense of liveliness and depth to the overall
artwork, transforming it into a captivating and dynamic representation of
the underwater world I envisioned.
Figure 5.2 my create process
Having incorporated these elements, I find a heightened sense of
satisfaction with my design. The inclusion of buoyant laughter, graceful
jellyfish, and vibrant coral adds an extra layer of visual interest and
complexity to the artwork. These elements enrich the overall ambiance and
fulfill my intended vision for this project. With their incorporation, my
design now exudes an enchanting and captivating quality, truly capturing
the essence of my creative imagination.

Animation and Finishing
Upon finishing my self-titled artwork, I delved into the realm of
animation using After Effects. Although I initially lacked familiarity
with the software, I proactively embarked on a comprehensive research
journey. I diligently watched tutorial videos on YouTube to gain a
deeper understanding of After Effects' diverse array of tools and
features. These invaluable resources enabled me to acquire the
essential knowledge and skills necessary to animate my artwork and
breathe life into it.
Once I gained a solid understanding of how to use After Effects, I
proceeded with animating the elements I incorporated into my design.
Utilizing the software's animation tools and techniques, I aimed to
bring the creatures to life, allowing them to swim gracefully beside me.
Through meticulous adjustment of keyframes and motion paths, I achieved
a captivating and seamless animation, enabling these elements to
elegantly float and enhance the overall impact of my artwork.
Figure 6.1 my final create process
Once I was content with the final result of my work, I moved forward
with the export process. Exporting the project enabled me to save it in
a compatible format, ensuring its preservation and readiness for sharing
or future endeavors. This step guaranteed that the design remained
intact, allowing others to view and utilize it as intended. Moreover,
exporting offered a valuable opportunity to showcase my completed work
to others, inviting feedback and recognition for my creative
efforts.
The third project, titled "Self-Titled," was a transformative journey of
self-expression and creative exploration. Drawing inspiration from the
captivating underwater world, I set out to create a design that truly
represented my unique personality. Through extensive research and
experimentation, I carefully selected relevant resources and backgrounds
to enhance the impact of my poster. Leveraging the power of Adobe
Illustrator and Photoshop, I meticulously crafted an alluring title and
integrated elements that added depth and visual interest to the
composition. Utilizing Adobe After Effects, I breathed life into my design
by incorporating mesmerizing animations that elevated the overall project.
Despite encountering challenges, such as capturing self-portraits and
mastering advanced techniques like puppet warp, I persevered and achieved
a final result that exceeded my expectations. This project taught me the
importance of adaptability, self-motivation, and the art of visual
storytelling. It was an invaluable experience that fostered personal
growth and instilled a greater sense of confidence in my artistic
abilities.
