                                                               CONCEPT

Own idea:

The basic concept of dance actually starts from two aspects: the movement of the body and the interpretation of the soul. On the physical side, stiff limbs and unemotional movements do not seem to have any effect. The softness of the body and the power of the two, the combination of the two, from the visual can attract the attention of the audience. Dance is not just a simple display of movement, but a dancer's output of ideas. The flow of movement and the sense of creativity, these are important.

WEEK 1

The 5 Ballet positions (just feet) which include

⁃ 1st position

⁃ 2nd position

⁃ 3rd position

⁃ 4th position variation 1

⁃ 4th position variation 2

⁃ 5th position

-Plie (Bend)

-Grand Plie (Big bend)

Ground foot movements, clean and neat, basic ballet foot movements, relatively simple, but very difficult to do well, all of these movements need to use toe strength, which starts from the inside of the thigh to the tip of the foot. Thigh rotation is also very important. In the most basic stance, the feet need two heels aligned, the toes should be 180 degrees, and the upper body should be relaxed. Basically all of the basic ballet moves have to be kept in this state before you move on.

WEEK 2

Exit point step / 45 degree kick/high kick/jump kick/forward point turn/push back step /

The basic movement of ballet and the basic training of legs and toes requires: clean foot movement, each row is combined with the music, from the thigh base to keep the upper body in a slightly relaxed state.

The movement of the back and forth point rotation and push the hand to step back, according to their own ideas can be created.

Basic movements, important knowledge points, the main mastery, not movement proficiency, but foot stability.

WEEK3 Public Holiday

WEEK4

For the upcoming group exam, it is required to use the final voting results (the music choice is bad buy) for choreography.

From the first 45 seconds, the group will discuss and choreograph together, and for the rest of the time, the instructor will do the choreography. What needs to be done is to combine the tutor's part with the part created by the group. The tutor's part can be adapted, but the basic action can not be changed.

-The second task is to prepare for your solo.(Mata Hari)

In addition to the part of choreography, the group task is more important for each member's cooperation, uniformity is also essential. The rhythm of this music I think is a little difficult for the choreography, the style is a little low, with a sense of impact, soft with a little strength, the members need to change formation, to present the most perfect effect.

As for solo, the song "Mata Hari" gives me a passionate feeling. I think what should be paid attention to in the choreography is the sense of creation and visual impact, rather than simply following the music and dancing in accordance with the music. Perhaps the opposite idea can be more loved by the audience and bring a sense of contrast.

WEEK 5

Elements of Dance

 "BASTE"

- Body           The softness, the fluidity, the choreography of movement, they all come from the body, the rigid body, they are soulless, there are many styles of music, the movement of the body has to be incorporated into the music.

-Action         The range of movements should be combined with the creation of the dance. Large movements, such as expansion, should be done to the extreme, with a sense of expression, to achieve the best effect. Every movement should be in place, so that the audience can feel the inspiration of the choreographer.

-Space        The sense of space comes from your limbs and your whole body recognizing the movement, and making a beautiful movement is not just about being there, it's about making the sense of space, the fit of the body and the frame that the body can create.

-Time         Creation is often limited by time. A good work needs to consider the overall length of time and how many beats each movement should be completed.

-Energy      The sense of power of the movement can bring different feelings to the audience, soft and small, and strong impact, strong, these will give the audience different feelings, there are many kinds of sense of power, they can give the audience different emotions.

The performance of this program includes many local ethnic dances, dances of different races and styles. Boys and girls cooperate together in each work to show the effect presented by the audience. They can experience dance elements in the future courses, such as the dance intensity and movement used by the actors in the performance, which are the basic essentials of dance. Different works are experienced with different emotions.

WEEK 6
During this week we tried different types of dance that we had never experienced before because we learned traditional Malaysian dance. In the process of learning Malaysian dance, I think our learning of Malaysian local dance can make our learning of dance more colorful.
In the traditional Malaysian dance, you need to pay attention to the rhythm of the hands, the rhythm of the body and it requires not only physical agility, but also very high concentration and careful thinking. At first, due to the complexity of the dance movements, I needed more repetition and mental motivation to remember all the movements.

Mr.Zhaf gave us a few simple basic moves.—-local Enjut, Enjut right left, Enjut local forward backwards, Enjut facing right curry, Enjut turn center. local (bounce in one place), Enjut right left (bounce right left), Enjut local forward backwards (bounce in one place back and forth), Enjut facing right curry (bounce right left), local Enjut forward backwards (bounce in one place back and forth), Enjut facing right curry (bounce right left). right curry (bounce facing right left) and Enjut rotate middle (bounce in a circle).

Apart from the technical challenges, I also felt a cultural expression of emotion from the traditional Malaysian dance. Each movement and gesture represents a specific meaning and emotion, the use of props and complex emotions mixed in the dance, as well as the blessing and love for the people and the country. Through dancing, I think I will be infected by these emotions in order to improve the quality of my dancing.

Techniques and Self-awareness of Malaysian Traditional Dance:
Traditional Malaysian dance emphasizes the sense of rhythm, which requires learning to grasp the rhythm and adjust the body coordination. Flexibility is very high. Dancers need to have good flexibility and balance to complete a variety of complex movements and postures. The length of the curved fingers and the accuracy of the movements, the use of eyes to enhance the visual effect of the performance, the emotion into the dance I think it is not a simple thing. In the process of dancing, it is also possible to cooperate with others, which tests not only the dancing skills but also the ability to cooperate with others.

WEEK  7

This week we had the second assessment of the course, which included the content that we had created our own dances in groups in the previous weeks. But the dance song was voted "bad guy" by the students. Mr.Zhaf began to show us some basic ballet moves, such as bending the knee, Bend (stretch) and drop (lift) the leg. We need to imitate the established combination of actions to display in groups for inspection.
Our dance group gave an important public performance. This is the content of our mid-term examination. For this dance work, we made use of the dance part provided by Mr.Zhaf to create the rest of the work. It was a great challenge for us, but we all faced it seriously in the end.

Week 8 Study Week

Week 9

From this week, our classes will be very intense, we will learn more dance knowledge. In class, we learned modern dance and local traditional Malaysian dance.

We made use of suzume, a theme song from a Japanese anime movie. Mr.Zhaf taught us how to better use the dance movements we learned to create modern dance, integrate the basic movements of modern dance into the music, combine with the music, and add the emotions matching the music into the movements, as if they were completely brought into the real emotions. Coordination of hand movements and body is extremely important. In the performance of modern dance, the foundation of the sole of the foot is also very important. A good dancer should combine the sense of strength with the sense of tenderness, because in a modern dance, there are many kinds of elements, and they are more complex. If we want to master all the dance skills, we still need to practice more.

As far as  I know, Summazau is a traditional folk dance that is popular in Sabah and throughout Malaysia. It is a traditional dance of the Kadazan Dusun. It is often performed during the harvest festival celebration every May. Sumazau is performed in traditional black and red clothing.

Sumazau is a traditional dance of the Kadasan people in Sabah, eastern Malaysia. This dance is usually performed during religious ceremonies and in daily life, such as to celebrate the rice harvest. It is a male and female dance that mimics the flight of birds with soft, slow movements.

Week 10

This week, we learned the lively viral application dance, and the song we chose was Mong Nan nan. According to the current heat point of view, this song is relatively attractive, not only to add feelings to it but also to achieve the integrity of the action, maintain the continuity of the action. Music has many different beats, the cleanliness of the movement, and how to ensure the perfect integration of the movement and the music are crucial, and the movement is alternating with the music, which sometimes becomes a problem for me.

In the other part, we discussed and studied the contents of the final exam together, and groups were required to form groups to complete the group homework in the final exam. After voting and selection, we finally selected two Korean pop songs. Both "Lemonade" by boy group NCT 127 and "Pink Venom" by girl group BlACKPINK were produced in a two-track design style and used them as test dance songs. After the teacher's explanation and discussion as well as the points for attention, my classmates and I will study and make changes during class time.

Week 11

In the 11th week, we learned salsa dance with our instructor. At that time, African slaves were sold to North America from Cuba. The situation was very sad. Although these slaves had to work with leg irons, they did not forget to dance, often dancing some simple steps while farming. The instruments they used to accompany them at that time were also very simple, just some daily utensils. Through constant evolution, in the 1820s, salsa dance basically formed the current dance movement. In the United States, salsa became a fusion of jazz dance styles and became more entertaining and expressive.

Salsa combines the movements of Latin dance and jazz dance, with the hips, waist, buttocks and inner thighs as the main areas of movement. Salsa dance can not only strengthen the heart and lung function, improve the flexibility of the body, but also enhance the effect of modifying the curves of the hips and legs. For beginners, the first thing to do is to relax your whole body and not get tangled up in your shoulders and hips. As long as you keep up with the pace and pace of the instructor, you can make beautiful salsa moves. Practice some basic steps to get the feel of a salsa dance.

Team work and solo dance are being prepared, and further progress is being studied.
