Major:Bachelor of Design (Honours) in Creative Media Course:Design Principles(202208 LLecture)
1.Repetition
2.Emphasis
3.Movement
4.Contrast
5.Balance
The first design principle:Repetition
(1)Description of the principle:Take a simple element and use it in many different ways, such as specifying different sizes, colors, or angles. That is to say, take one basic life element and transform it into another, but only if the basic element does not change so that you can present the style and idea you want.
(2)Materials and Treatments:I used a marker and some black watercolor paint for a black and white effect.
(3)Visual reference and my inspiration:In the first design assignment, in terms of visual reference, I used simple black and white style effects to express my ideas clearly. My inspiration came from reflection, which is the shadow formed by light refraction on an object.
(4)A brief description:I think I use black paint and white paint, I think it can better reflect the visual effect I want. In life, for example, trees in the day, the sun will make them show black reflection. If there are more trees together, it will show the repeated visual effect.—————————————————————
The second design principle:Emphasis
Visual reference

works
(1)Description of the principle : Use simple materials to highlight the main expressed elements, visually allowing people to see the central point at the first glance, making the central element more obvious than the surrounding elements.
(2)Materials and Treatments:gouache
(3)Visual reference and my inspiration:
By using color contrast, the main object expressed in the picture is more obvious to people's visual perception. I used red and blue as contrast contrast to emphasize that the whale is the center point in the picture.
(4)A brief description : I think I can bring out the whale more by drawing it in red, because the ocean is blue, which would be very flat, and the blue around it makes the red in the middle more clear.

The third design principle:Movement
Visual reference

2.
works
(1)Description of the principle :
Two-dimensional and three-dimensional vision can appear simultaneously in a plane, and it is a natural moving object.
(2)Materials and Treatments: the sketching
(3)Visual reference and my inspiration:By observing the movement of water in daily life, I selected the phenomenon that the water in the flowerpot will slowly move out after it is broken.
(4)A brief description:In terms of visual effects, the movement of water is naturally generated, and it can show a three-dimensional picture in the painting, and it is irregular. The debris and water falling are all generated by the movement of vision.

The fourth design principle:Contrast
Visual reference:1.
(1)Description of the principle:
In the design of the work, in the same picture to show the feeling of extreme contrast.
(2)Materials and Treatments:the sketching
(3)Visual reference and my inspiration:In the streets, you can see many working people walking and they are very free, but they can not escape the daily journey, just like the birds locked in the cage, which will form a sense of contrast.
(4)A brief description:In the picture, there are people who can walk, they can go anywhere, but they are surrounded by cages.—————————————————————
The fifth design principle:Balance
Visual reference
1.
(1)Description of the principle:
In the design work, according to the depth of color and visual effects on the resulting balance effect.
(2)Materials and Treatments:Use watercolor paint
(3)Visual reference and my inspiration:Late at night, colors tend to be more homogeneous and almost blend in with many colors, all of which become similar shades.
(4)A brief description:Late night blue, plus a variety of animals in different colors to highlight. Almost the same color is used on the screen, which can make the color and visual effects more balanced and harmonious.
